Arsenal hold final talks with 2 world class players

With the start of the Premier League season just 12 days away Arsenal fans are growing increasingly worried over Arsene Wenger’s inactivity in the transfer market.

It has been over two months since the club announced the capture of Granit Xhaka and there is still plenty of business to be done in the market, but reports today suggest Arsenal are intensifying their activity with talks with both Riyad Mahrez and Mauro Icardi.

Both players have been consistently linked with moves to the Emirates and reports in Algeria and Italy claim that the pair are eager to join the London club.

According to claims in Mahrez’s homeland, he has agreed to join Arsenal after turning down a new £100,000-a-week contract at Leicester.

Arsenal are said to be ready to pay around £40million to land Mahrez.

Algerian newspaper Le Buteur say the 25-year-old and his agent spoke with Wenger, who convinced him to move to the Emirates.

It is added that Leicester have been angered by the presence of Wenger and his assistant Steve Bould during their 4-0 friendly defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

For Mauro Icardi, Arsenal are hopeful of landing the Inter Milan captain who netted 16 goals as his side finished fourth in Serie A last season.
